Pudhina - Cilantro Chutney - Recipe Marathon - Day 6

Today is very exciting for me .. actually planned to make some sweets but could not , blame it on time factor .. the reason for my excitement - two awards from my fellow runner Sripriya and guess what they are my first awards. Today is Day 6 of Recipe Marathon and here I go with my post of the day - Pudhina - Cilantro Chutney. This is a perfect complement for Steaming Idli, or Chappathis.

Ingredients:

Pudhina - 1 cup
Cilantro - 1 cup
Red chillies - 4 to 5 nos
Tomato - 1 cut into small pieces
Onion - 1 cut into small pieces
Salt - as per taste
For tempering - Mustard seeds, Urad Dal and little oil

Method:
Wash thoroughly Cilantro and pudhina, let the water drip off. In a blender add all the ingredients except the ones for tempering and blend well.

In a frying pan, add oil and when its hot , add the mustard seeds followed by Urad dal. Pour the blended mixture into the pan and stir well. Remove it to a serving bowl and served garnished with a pudhina leaf. I had it with idli, for breakfast. I gobbled up 5 to 6 , it was very tasty.

Have a look at what my fellow runners are cooking:
