Ragi Aadai - Recipe Marathon - Day 14

Today being World Diabetes Day, I thought making Ragi Aadai would be relevant to be posted in the marathon. My grandmother had diabetes and her dinner will always be Ragi Aadai or Ragi kanji. She controlled her diabetes completely through her diet. And yes she is a very active person even at this age. Some people restrict this food that only diabetic people should have it. Even otherwise ragi has got lot of fibre in it which will help the body in many ways and trust me its a very very healthy food. My mother and me like this and make it as often as possible.

Ingredients:
Ragi Flour - 2 cups
Onion - 1 cup finely chopped
Green Chillies - 2 finely chopped
Curry Leaves - a handful chopped
Oil - very little to be used
Method:
In a bowl add all the ingredients and make it a dough using water. It should bit be very soggy or very tight, some where in the middle. ( hope im not confusing ).
Now make small balls of the dough prepared and make pattis out of them on a plastic sheet or on a leaf. You can also use your hand alternatively.
Heat the tawa and when its hot, place the ragi pattis on it and cook them on both sides. You can cook even two at a go, if your patties are small in size.

Healthy Ragi Aadai ready to be served. You can eat it along with sambhar or with some non coconut chutney.

Im sending this to Eat Healthy - Fight Diabetes Contest hosted by Sangeeth , last but never the least peek into my fellow runners blog to see what is cooking.
