It was a hot summer afternoon and we were at Zaica for lunch. When I entered my very first thoughts was that the place had a very poor lighting for dining, leave alone photography. I was looking forward for their menu as I have heard a lot about their speciality dal. This special dal is cooked for 24 hours and has loads of butter in it. Obviously it did taste very good,
We quenched our thirst with the Lemony Drink with a mint flavor to it. I did not feel there was anything more to talk about it
Next came in the Non Veg Soup - Yakhni Shorba. This lacked flavor and taste.
Tomato Shorba - had the flavor and taste of a tomato soup. Though the spice level was a little low for me
Beetroot Ki Tikki - this was the star dish of our lunch. Even core non vegetarians liked it and we were asking for more servings . It had the right blend of spices. The very first thought for me, was that it would be sweet. But it was perfectly made and tasted very good
Next on our platter was Gul Gul ka Paneer. It looked like a bombay sandwich. Paneer was a little hard but the flavors in it had blended very well and tasted good with the mint chutney
Bhutiyan ki sheek was a Vegetable Sheek Kabab cut into small pieces
We were served three non veg starters Murg Malai Methi
Murg Til Tikka
Fish Fry.
These were the starters that was served at our table before we plunged into the main course buffet.
Choice for main course for Vegetarians and Non vegetarians was very limited..The taste was ok- ok for the non vegetarians while veg food was above average..
Paneer Methi Malai
Veg Makhanwala
Naulakhi Sabz
Veg Pulao
Chicken Tikka Masala |
Mutton Rogan Josh
Chicken Dum Biryani
Desserts was only Gulab Jamun that was very hot and Vanilla ice cream along with Strawberry cakes
Zaica is located on Radhakrishnan Salai , next to Copper Chimney
My ratings for Zaica
Ambience : 6 /10
Service - 7/10
Food - 6/10
Price - 6/10
PS : The lighting in the restaurant was very poor for photography, hence the bad snaps. Kindly bear with it
